Dear fellow citizens and interested visitors,

I’m an older gentleman who has seen many political scenarios unfold. My interest in Canada and the position of Citizen has been cultivated over many years and has resulted in a very critical view of those who seek power over others.

Over the years, my love for my home country has grown. In fact, I would say that while I did not feel this way when I was younger, I’ve become a very patriotic man. It has taken a long time to understand what love of country means. This is because of my fascinations for philosophy and history.

I can remember a time when I actively shunned the idea of a country since it could be argued that borders were artificial and somewhat arbitrary. For example, maps of Europe have changed repeatedly down the centuries while the land remained the land.

But as I’ve matured, I’ve come to understand a “country” as a geographically defined area in which its people have shared values. It is the shared values that make a country. Those that comprise the history of Canada are worth preserving and bequeathing to our children and grandchildren.

Our history is one of a passion for freedom. From the early arrivals and explorers seeking a new, free life from their European roots to the waves of those who immigrated later from various parts of the world, people came here to carve out their own lives their own way. That is the very definition of liberty.

This site is my dedication to Canada. May we remain strong and free.
